"Don't Complain": Forecaster Kolesov Explains Cold June in St. Petersburg

The head of the Hydrometeorological Center of the North-West Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, Alexander Kolesov, responded to complaints from many residents of St. Petersburg about the lack of summer in the city, despite the end of June.
Summing up the weather in the first two decades of the current month, the forecaster said that the average temperature in June for this period exceeds the norm by 0.3 degrees. "So don't complain, the most normal summer weather," Kolesov noted.
No heat is expected in the Northern capital in the near future. The city on the Neva will continue to have weather conditions with temperatures up to 20 degrees during the day and occasional rain.
“There is no heat yet, and there is no solar anticyclone in sight,” Kolesov added, promising to report as soon as the weather in St. Petersburg takes a sharp warming course.
In addition, the sun did not spoil Petersburgers in June 2025. You should not count on clear days until the end of the month, the meteorologist warned.
Earlier, it was reported that a cyclonic vortex would bring more rain to St. Petersburg on the last day of the SPIEF.
